Company History

Our founder, Anthony Colasanto, was a printer by trade. He printed maps while serving in the United States Army. Anthony has always been an entrepreneur at heart, and after being discharged he decided to follow his dream and start his own business. In the spirit of any self-made businessman he had a humble beginning, with one small press in the basement of his grandfather's house. Colony Printers (as it was then known) opened for business in 1970.

A few years later Anthony moved his shop into a small space on Elm Street in the heart of downtown New Haven. It was then known as Elm Minitprint. The company later moved to 27 Whitney Avenue and has been there ever since. Many may still remember the name we had for years, Minitprint, and remember the iconic "clock". In the late 1990's the name changed to DocuPrint and Imaging which fit better with our vision, and just recently in 2012 our name was shortened to DocuPrintnow.

It seems like every company talks about the importance of customer service, but one of the lasting cornerstones of our business is the way our customers feel about doing business with us. Our willingness to go the extra mile to meet expectations (even if it means working around the clock to meet tight deadlines), attention to detail, and reliability have become renowned and many of our clients have been with us for decades.

If you would like to talk to one of our customer service representatives, please call 203-776-6000. We would be happy to discuss how we can help your business succeed and prosper. Feel free to ask for Tony or Francesca, when you call, and to inquire about taking a tour of our facility.
